In this article, I describe and provide examples of executive functioning skills so that you can understand their importance and how they are all affected by autism. I then review some skills already discussed in previous articles that connect to building foundational executive functioning skills. Finally, I offer some additional everyday things you can do with children with autism that will help address other foundational functions.
